Heidi is a work of children’s fiction published in 1881 by Swiss author Johanna Spyri.

Little orphan Heidi is sent to live with her grandfather in the SwissAlps by her aunt Detie. She soon begins to enjoy her life with grandfather and falls in love with nature.Heidi never stops being in awe of the sights and the sounds of the Swiss Alps. Very soon she is taken away to Frankfurt her aunt, to be a companion to a rich, Lonely girl Clara forges a deep friendship with her. While staying there, she facesmany challenges and deals with them in her innocent andchild-like way. It was written as a book “for children and those who love children” (as quoted from its subtitle). Heidi is one of the best-selling books ever written and is among the best-known works of Swiss.
